Make & Take Kit

  • We love essential oils! What we love even more and have a true passion for, is creating tools that help others use their essential oils in a variety of ways. We do this by creating kits and accessories that allow individual users and business builders to explore and harness the myriad possibilities that exist within essential oils.

So, onto the reasons we rock at what we do:

    1. Proper Dilution Ratios are used throughout all our essential oil Make & Take Workshop Kits, Recipes, Tear Sheet Pads and DIY Kits. We follow proper dilution ratios in all our recipes according to leading Certified Aromatherapists throughout the world so you're not risking safety. [Read more]

    2. Safety: Don't risk sensitization, phototoxicity or other reactions by using excessive amounts of oils. A little bit goes a long way and it's best to err on the side of caution. [Read more]

    3. Professional Collaborations: We seek out only the best in the industry to collaborate with on our products! Simply wipe it off and your label will still look brand new.

    • Dr. Robin Fawcett, is an American GP practicing in the UK. She has an MD from Duke University and an MA in History of Medicine from University College, London. Her clinical interests are preventative and integrative medicine and child well-being. Recently she was selected by TEDx to discuss the National Healthcare System in the UK. Dr. Fawcett helped develop the Baby Bottles line.
    • Dr. Janet Roark, DVM is an EO user and Veterinarian who helped develop the Horse and Fido & Felix lines of products.
    • Dr. Susan Lawton helped with the Mood Management & Soul Blend products.
    • Dr. Kara Hanks, Doctorate in Natural Health, Registered Nurse, Shamanic Healer and Spiritual Master helped develop our Chakra products.
    • Certified Aromatherapist & Reflexologist, Aimee Budd helped develop recipes and tear sheet information for Rollerball Mentality, Essentially Well, Rollerball Skin, Body Balms and Progeny's Potions.

    4. Affordability: Besides our kits being $5 less than our competitors, our recipes don't call for crazy amounts of essential oils. For example, our adult wellness ("Essentially Well") recipe blends call for a max of 6 drops per recipe. This equals an approximate cost of $6.90 to make all 10 blends; when our competitors kit costs over $33! Now imagine supplying oils for 10 guests to make all 10 blends - you'd be out over $330! Simply put: it's cost prohibitive to expect hosts or oil users to provide 30 or more drops PER RECIPE to guests. That adds up fast and depletes your essential oil supply unnecessarily.

    5. Waterproof, Smudgeproof and Forgiving labels: It doesn't matter if oil gets on these labels! Simply wipe it off and your label will still look brand new thanks to a special coating on the labels. Also, if you put the label on crooked, simply peel it off and reapply.

    6. Well-Researched: Michelle has a Bachelor's Degree in education and loves researching and learning about oils and sharing that knowledge through recipes, instructions and lots of free information. No Pinterest recipes here!

    7. Freebies! No one else gives you so many tools for your Make & Take classes! Powerpoint presentations, class descriptions, DIY invitations, product photos, supplemental handouts and much more... for free!

    8. Award-Winning Designer: Michelle Crossley has an Associates Degree in Graphic Design, has taught college design, and won several design awards. Prior to owning EO Tools, she ran a successful design business with clients all over the world. Often, her designs are confused with top essential oil companies!

    9. Brand Neutral: "Our Kits + Your Oils" means you can use your brand of oils with any our kits. No matter what essential oil brand you use, you can use our kits.

    10. Variety: we have a variety of kits that appeal to a wide demographic. Some are Make & Take Kits (for those holding multi-person events that includes multiple label sheets, recipe sheets, etc) and some available in DIY Kits (for those do-it-yourselfers that want their own personal kit that includes 1 label sheet, 1 recipe sheet and bottles).

  • “It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas!”

Here are some great tips from us and others on how to have a successful "12 Sprays of Christmas" workshop and great guest experience!

    ADDITIVES

We all know from basic chemistry that water and oil don't mix or solubilize. We wanted to address what to add to your "12 Sprays of Christmas" room sprays to enjoy them for the season. It is ideal for any water-based and essential oil spray to address the following 3 factors:

    1. Suspension - this keeps the spray in the air longer
    2. Soluble - this keeps the chemicals combined in a solution, so they don't separate.
    3. Preservative - inhibits microbial growth.

For a 2 oz spray, keep the main ratios at approximately 75% [distilled] water and 25% ethanol. To help suspend the scent longer in the air, keep it soluble and inhibit growth in the solution, we recommend the following:

    • Add in 1 Tbsp of Vodka that is at least 151 proof and high enough in ethanol Everclear® 190 proof Vodka is best. Read more on this here.
    • Special Denatured Alcohol (SDA) can also be used in place of Vodka, but is harder to come by.
    • Be sure to use Distilled Water. Most tap water has fluoride, chlorine and other trace minerals and/or chemicals that aren't in distilled water. These additives mix with the essential oils, and can produce undesired results when diffusing or using in sprays. Therefore, we DO NOT recommend using tap water.

We DO NOT recommend using Witch Hazel as this is another water-based medium that can change the scent of the entire blend and won't inhibit bacterial growth.

We DO NOT recommend using Salt, as this is only a preservative and will do nothing to help keep the blend mixed or suspend the scent.

    CREATIVE CLASS IDEAS

    • Towards the end of your teaching segment on essential oils, offer those that are purchasing an enrollment kit, one free recipe of their choice.
    • Setup a different class each week doing a countdown to Christmas and charge accordingly. EX: Week 1 you only do "Gifts of the Magi" recipe. Determine your rate for that specific recipe and let people know ahead of time what you'll be making and the cost. Week 2 is "Dashing Through the Pines", etc. You can also offer those that enroll get one free.
    • Use the “Holiday Essentials” Tear Sheet that comes with 25 sheets chock full of information as a handout for your class.
    • Gift a kit to your downline to encourage them to host a class!
    • Make up the entire kit and offer it as a free incentive with a large enrollment kit purchase!

    MAKE & TAKE WORKSHOP TIPS

    • For maximum attendance at your event, personally hand out the invitations 1-2 weeks prior to your event. A day prior to the event, be sure to call, email or text a reminder of the date and time to all those invited to get a final head count.
    • Squeeze bottles are perfect for dispensing the distilled water into the spray bottles.
    • It‘s always a good idea to have additional materials on hand for a successful workshop. (see “Materials Not Included” below)
    • Have cotton balls out for guests to spray scent into and sample.
    • To offset your costs, have extra supplies (spray bottles, labels, lid stickers, etc) available for your guests to purchase.

CREATIVE IDEAS FOR USING THE KIT

    • If you're not holding a class and want a small version to make for yourself, consider purchasing a small DIY Kit that includes a recipe sheet, label sheet and the bottles you need to make all the blends.
    • Make diffuser bombs by simply putting the oils only into 1/4 drams. Add a “12 Sprays of Christmas” Lid Sticker to the top to know what’s inside. When you're ready to diffuse, simply pour it into your diffuser along with water for instant holiday cheer!
    • Make up the entire kit and sell them at a flea market or craft fair.
    • Donate them to those less fortunate, group homes, nursing homes, etc.

    FESTIVE TIPS
Turn your event space into a festive winter wonderland!

    • Turn on holiday songs.
    • Turn the TV onto the fireplace scene.
    • Soak the ends of wood stir sticks in a few drops of Cinnamon and serve with warm cider.
    • Have Peppermint or Cinnamon out for guests to add into their hot cocoa.

Designs for women, men and kids!

    BRACELET TIPS

    • The proper way to enjoy your Aroma Bracelet and protect precious components, add a drop of essential oil onto your fingers, then rub into the lava beads. Many times people will drop oils onto their bracelet and this can wear down the elastic or cause the oils to drip. This is generally not good practice with any diffuser jewelry.

    • To make 1 set of the Amazonite 5 Bracelet Collection, you'd need: 40 Howlite, 22 Lava, 16 Hematite, 14 Crystal Quartz, 18 Amazonite. The Amazonite Kit comes with 44 of each.

  • “Essential Oil Perfumes make Scents!”

The Essential Perfumes Make & Take Kit allows for a non-toxic, natural way to enjoy perfume blends. An excellent tool for those wanting to showcase the fun and versatility of essential oils in a class format!

Which is better Vodka or Carrier Oil to add to my perfume?
You can definitely use a carrier oil of your choice - which some prefer over Vodka since it can be sticky. If you use Vodka, we recommend at least 151 proof (IE: Everclear® 190 proof Vodka) since it is high in ethanol (read more on this here) and you can purchase from a local supermarket or liquor store. Vodka is also ideal to use since it doesn't have a scent. If you go with a carrier oil, I’d recommend a carrier oil like Fractionated Coconut Oil since it doesn’t have a scent.

We DO NOT recommend using Witch Hazel as this is another water-based medium that can change the scent of the entire blend and won't inhibit bacterial growth like Vodka will.

CREATIVE IDEAS FOR USING THE KIT

    • If you're not holding a class and want a small version to make for yourself, consider purchasing a small DIY Kit that includes a recipe sheet, label sheet and the bottles you need to make all the blends.
    • Make a spray version of the kit using the 2 oz Fine Mist Spray Bottles and “Essential Perfumes” Labels. Simply add oils to spray bottle then add 1/4 C distilled water in the bottle.
    • To add a color to your perfume, there are many skin safe colorants on the market you can add.
    • Make up mini rollerball perfumes by using the recipes and putting them in small travel-sized rollerball bottles and using “Essential Perfume” Lid Stickers.
    • If you'd like a solid perfume substitute the carrier oil/fixative with beeswax.
    • Re-purpose antique atomizers and old perfume bottles - give them new life with a beneficial essential oil fragrance and be sure to add a lid sticker to the bottom of the bottle so you remember what blend is inside.

    CREATIVE CLASS IDEAS

    • Towards the end of your teaching segment on essential oils, offer those that are purchasing an enrollment kit, one free recipe of their choice.
    • Setup a different class each week and charge accordingly. EX:  Week 1 you only do “Bliss” recipe. Determine your rate for that specific recipe and let people know ahead of time what you’ll be making and the cost. Week 2 is “Harmony”, etc. You can also offer those that enroll get one free.

    • These would be fun for a camp project, tweens, girls night or to make as gifts!

    CUTTING COSTS

    • Buy Bulk - even better, buy when they are on sale!
    • Subscribe to our enewsletter (at the bottom of each page) so you can buy items - including kits - when they're on sale!

    ADDITIONAL RECIPE IDEAS
Not all essential oil companies have all single oils readily available for purchase including valuable and highly regarded scents popular in fragrances such as Rose, Jasmine, Neroli and Vanilla. Furthermore, it may not be cost prohibitive to do a class with a $500 bottle of oil! Therefore, we chose to offer the common oil blends within the kit and have these as additional recipes you can create if you have access to these oils.

    TEACHING SAFETY
ANY interaction you have with people new to essential oils, it is your duty to share the benefits as well as proper safety precautions to ensure they have a positive experience with essential oils. Just because they are natural doesn't mean they are safe! ALWAYS promote research PRIOR to using any essential oils.

    WHERE TO BUY ITEMS
Most of these items are available at your local health food store, but you can also purchase online at Amazon or Vitacost:

    • Colloidal Silver - antibacterial, antifungal, helps prevent infections
    • Apple Cider Vinegar (with mother) - antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, etc
    • Aloe Vera Juice - anti-inflammatory, skin soothing, reduces redness and itchiness. Some antiseptic properties
    • Alcohol Free Witch Hazel - anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties
    • Dish soap - to help disperse the oil in the solution

    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    • Do you know if the dish soap in the "bugs" blend would interfere with topical flea/tick meds (prevention)? I know soap strips oils, so is there a recommendation for which dish soap?
Any dish soap is fine. Dr Roark does not recommend using oils topically within 7 days of a topical flea/tick treatment.
    • And these are all perfectly safe for pets? Are there specifics on animal size? We aren't going to have to worry about someone from our class saying their pet had an adverse reaction?
You should always consult with your veterinarian if you are concerned with using essential oils with your pet. Most of the recipes are extremely diluted so an adverse reaction is unlikely.
    • Roman Chamomile is not available anywhere - any suggestions?
You can either omit it or use Frankincense.
    • Is there something in the kit for dogs with bad allergies and ear infections/yeast infections?
We have something called "Seasonal Threats" but nothing for the ears.
    • Is there a recipe for fleas and/or hot spots?
the "Bugs" would be for fleas and "Cuts" would be for hot spots.
    • If you make a spray bottle and someone wants to buy it from you... what's the average selling price?
I would say from $12 and up.
    • For the Seasonal Threats, would that included rashes?
Yes, or the "Itch" spray. You could try either to see what your pet responds to best.
    • What do you mean apple cider vinegar with mother?
It will say on the outside of the bottle something like, "Includes Mother" or "With the Mother". The Mother gives ACV a murky, cloudy, cob-web like appearance and contains beneficial enzymes, friendly bacteria and proteins.
    • Where can I purchase Colloidal Silver or Apple Cider Vinegar?
Most local health food stores or Amazon will have these items.
    • Does it matter the ppm of the colloidal silver? I am finding they are anywhere from 5ppm to 30ppm
Usually 5-20 is normal, try to get the smallest particle size. ppm is concentration. Which really doesn't matter that much. 0.0005 microns is a particle size. Ultimately, it doesn't matter that much what kind of CS they get.
